Survey.com Review — Is There High-Income Potential Here?

survey.com reviewsHave you joined all the paid survey sites you can handle, but find that the income you’re earning is not enough? Do you find answering surveys a bit too slow?

Well, maybe you would like to try something else entirely. Something that has the potential to pay more.

Today we’re looking at Survey.com, a website that’s more than just paid surveys. It allows you to work side jobs from various retailers around your city. The question is, though, is it legit and as profitable as suggested?

Let’s dive right in as we tackle the ins and outs of Survey.com.

About Survey.com

Survey.com is a market research firm that’s focused on the retail industry. Specifically, they provide brands with valuable data gathered in-store to arm them with insights to help their business strategy.

But of course, as someone who’s out looking for a way to earn money online, you’re not particularly interested in that. What you want is the Survey Merchandiser app!

The app offers users a variety of tasks in retail stores around them. Once you request a project, you will be assigned to a store. Once you complete a task, you earn cash.

And these are not just the run-of-the-mill surveys that you need to answer casually at home. The jobs listed on the Merchandiser app mostly require you to do the task in the actual store yourself. These may include counting inventory, stocking shelves, and auditing stocks, among other things. Some require you to become a brand ambassador and try to sell items to store managers.

In a way, Survey.com is more like a flexible part-time job app than a paid survey site. It’s more physically involved and takes a bit more time on average. Of course, expect the pay to be higher, too.

Pay varies depending on the nature of the task and can go from $5 up to $75 and above. Time varies as well. Some are casual five-minute projects, while others look more like an 8-hour shift job. You can earn up to $150/day using this platform, which is comparable to a real job. It’s way better than wasting your time with a poor survey site like Paid Viewpoint.

How Does the Site Work?

To join, you first need to install the Survey Merchandiser app, which is compatible with both iOS and Android devices. Due to the nature of the projects, the app is only available for users in certain countries like the United States. If the app isn’t available in your country’s Apple Store or Google Play, it means you’re not eligible.

Next, you need to create an account. Also, take note of the minimum requirements you need to join. Some are your standard stuff, but two stand out. One is that you need to be able to lift 35 lbs. The other is that you need to have a mode of transportation (public or private).

These requirements are merely there to make sure you can be physically fit and available to handle the gigs Survey.com provides.

Once you’re in, you’ll then be presented with a list of gigs available in your area. You can see the exact nature of the work, how long it will take, and how much it pays. Figure out the ones that you want to do and click to request the job.

You’ll then proceed to your assigned store and simply follow the instructions given to complete the project. The team at Survey.com will then verify your work within eight business days and will add the money to your account.

Withdrawing your money isn’t “instant” at Survey.com. Instead, it’s paid out in three set schedules per month, which is transferred directly to your PayPal account.

Is the Site Legit?

To verify if the website is legit, we looked at the Survey.com reviews and ratings on the Better Business Bureau. The latter is a trusted authority that monitors whether businesses are scams or not.

Upon checking, Survey.com has an F rating as of this writing, the lowest score a company can get. The reason for their dismal score is that they have seven complaints, five of which were not addressed by the company. While this is terrible business practice, this in itself isn’t enough to brand Survey.com as a scam.

All these negative Survey.com reviews are from users who reported not getting paid for tasks they did via the app. The company did resolve two of those complaints, which were simple misunderstandings of the three-week payout schedule they follow. While this is a show of good faith in the part of Survey.com, we’re not entirely sure what happened with the other five complaints.

On the flip side, there are also positive Survey.com reviews on the BBB website. We also checked their rating on the Apple Store—a 4.4. All praise the way the company paid them for tasks they did, correctly and on time. They liked how they paid well, enough for some to treat it as their primary source of living.

Overall, based on our own experience with the app and reviews online, we conclude that the Survey.com Merchandiser app is a legit platform. There might have been just glitches with the other users that the company might have failed to address on time. This is only poor customer service on their part.

Review Summary

  • Potential for higher income. The best part of Survey.com is that it offers a potentially higher income than your usual paid survey sites. With jobs ranging from $5 to $75 and beyond, it can become a serious income stream.
  • Jobs are varied in nature. Unlike paid survey sites, the number of jobs you can do in Survey.com is varied. You can fit it into your personal interests or skills, making that much more enjoyable and profitable for you.
  • Complete tasks at your own pace. The best part of Survey.com gigs is that you can finish it at your own pace. This makes it easier to fit jobs with your unique schedule, such as the weekends.

  • There are some problems with payments. The most concerning complaint we found about Survey.com is that not everyone is paid. Of course, this isn’t representative of what happens to all users, but there’s a possibility that it might happen to you.
  • The rate of longer shift gigs isn’t so high. Survey.com gigs rates are generally better on the shorter (90 mins or less) timeframes. On the longer 4- to 8-hour shifts, pay gets substantially lower on an hourly basis. Sometimes it even goes below minimum wage.
  • There are times when there’s no project at all. If you’re thinking of relying on Survey.com as your only source of income, be warned. There are times that you’ll have no gigs at all, hence no earnings. Of course, this depends on where you live, but it generally happens often.
  • Customer service is horrible. The company’s customer service isn’t exactly the best in the world. A lot of Survey.com reviews are actually born from the unhelpful and sometimes delayed responses from their reps. So, just hope you don’t encounter a problem; else you might have a hard time resolving it.

Final Thoughts

Overall, we think that Survey.com is an excellent money-making opportunity. The overall pay is good, comparable to that of a side job. So long as you can consistently get gigs, it’ll work. On the flip side, it does take a bit more time and effort on your part.

We recommend Survey.com if you’re looking for a good side hustle and you don’t mind going out and about to do it. On the other hand, if you prefer a more passive, stay-in-the-house-all-day kind of arrangement, then you be better off looking elsewhere. Maybe a paid survey site would be more up your alley?
