Looking for a reputable paid survey site to make extra cash? Some MindsPay reviews recommend the website for the high number of well-paying survey opportunities it offers, but based on my research, I’m not convinced.
Before you rush into signing up to become a MindsPay member, check out our MindsPay review to discover if the platform is legit or a scam.
MindsPay is a GPT (get paid to) site that you can join to earn extra cash.
Aside from answering surveys, there are other activities that you can perform on MindsPay to make money. Such activities include product testing, opening emails, referrals, and more—but how true is this?
Beyond what they offer, there’s very little about MindsPay on the internet.
The domain was registered in 2010, but the registrant’s info is hidden. Some MindsPay reviews state that the company’s office address is 2885 Sanford Ave. SW, Grandville, MI, but our research shows that this is inaccurate, which raises a lot of questions regarding if MindsPay is legitimate or a scam.
To verify the legitimacy of the website, let’s look into how the website works.
How Does the Site Work?
For now, you can only become a MindsPay member if you are a resident of the US and over the age of 18.
Joining the website is free, and the signup process is straightforward. Simply provide your date of birth, name, email, gender, phone number, and address.
The next step in the signup process involves answering some questions about yourself to build your profile. Your profile will be used to determine which surveys and other activities you’re qualified to participate in. That’s why you must provide accurate and up to date information in your profile.
Immediately after the signup process is complete, you can select activities to make money or receive invites to participate in activities. You will also receive a $3 bonus just for signing up.
Some of the activities that you can participate in to make money on the site include paid surveys, focus groups, online shopping, friend referrals, product testing, and reading emails.
Surveys are one of the quickest ways to earn a substantial sum on the website. You can earn between $3 and $25 for 5- to 15-minute surveys. Longer surveys may pay even more.
However, note that taking a survey requires that you signup up with a third-party site and confirm your email. You’ll have to do this every time you want to take a survey from a new site because MindsPay gets its surveys from other websites.
It was tiring having to sign up on a different website each time I wanted to take a survey, but the reward for some of the surveys was worth it.
If having to sign up on a third-party site every time you want to take a survey is too much work for you, a much easier way to make money on MindsPay is inviting your friends to join the platform with referral links.
It’s a fantastic way to earn passive income. You’ll earn 10 percent of the earnings of your referrals every time they cash out. If your friends are hard workers on the website, they can make you a pretty tidy sum every month.
You can also make money from reading emails. It’s an easy task, which is most likely why it pays as little as $0.25 to $0.30 per email. But aside from the little sum, there seems to be a lot of complaints from MindsPay members about not receiving their due rewards for completing this task.
When you have a minimum of $50 in your MindsPay account, you’ll be able to cash out via PayPal, which is easy and convenient. Unlike other survey sites that process payouts via PayPal immediately, though, MindsPay only pays out on the 15th and the 30th of every month.
If everything you’ve seen so far in this MindsPay review has you feeling like giving the platform a try, slow down! We are yet to answer the question of if the website is legit.
Is the Site Legit?
There are a lot of complaints from MindsPay members about not getting paid after completing activities on the site. That’s a big red flag and a genuine cause for concern.
All paid survey sites have at least a few similar complaints from their members, but when you look at MindsPays’ complaints alongside the company’s false office address, and the fact that it has an F rating on the BBB (Better Business Bureau), doubts start to arise about the platform’s legitimacy.
Even if you do manage to receive your earnings from MindsPay, don’t expect to be rolling in dough. Racking up enough earnings to cash out takes time, and you may not qualify for all the available surveys.
Plus, having to sign up on a different site each time you want to take a survey will slow you down. If you are tough, you may be able to make about $50 monthly doing various activities on the platform, but it’s not guaranteed.
What all of this means is it’s possible to make money on MindsPay, but it won’t be reliable and don’t expect to earn enough to sponsor a champagne and caviar lifestyle.
The Good and the Bad
Here’s a summary of MindsPay’s good and bad points.
Based on our MindsPay review, the platform has several noteworthy pros.
- Payments via PayPal
- Referral program is good for reasonable passive income
- $3 sign up bonus, and free coupons and samples
- Wide variety of money-making opportunities available
But ours and others’ MindsPay reviews also revealed several cons, such as:
- Payouts only on the 15th and the 30th of every month
- Paid surveys are only accessible on third-party sites, which you have to sign up on all over again
- iOS and Mac users may have difficulty accessing the site
- Many of the activities on the website offer low-value rewards
- It can take a long time for a completed task to be verified and your reward released
- Several complaints from members about being unpaid for completing tasks
- A high cash-out threshold of $50
As you can see from our pros and cons, the cons of the platform far outnumber its pros. The platform might be legitimate, but like what we said about ProOpinion, it’s definitely not one of the best paid survey sites out there. Nonetheless, if you are tempted, you can still give it a try—just don’t set your expectations too high.
To maximize your earnings taking paid surveys, I advise joining as many reputable paid survey sites as you can alongside MindsPay to ensure you get paid frequently. This will increase your options and earning potential, making sure you always have extra cash coming in.
