Do you love watching TV? Of course, you do!
E-Poll is offering you the opportunity to use your hobby to make easy cash. For watching videos, you can earn cash rewards, gift cards, and more. Sounds like a sweet deal but considering that there are so many scam paid-survey-sites out there, chances are E-Poll might not be legit.
Instead of taking the risk of trying E-Poll out yourself to verify its legitimacy, read our ePoll reviews. You’ll find all the answers you need regarding if you can make money on the platform.
E-Poll, now E-Poll Surveys, has been in the market research industry since the late 90’s. It’s also one of the most popular names when it comes to paid survey websites. Bridge Entertainment Inc. owns E-Poll and uses it to gather consumer insights. Most of the surveys you’ll find on the website gather data about the entertainment and media industry, and celebrities.
If you’re a fan of TV shows and related topics, E-Poll might be the perfect survey site for you. Your opinions about TV and media can go on to make a difference, and in exchange for sharing your opinions, you get paid—sounds like a great deal.
Aside from gathering consumer insights regarding the entertainment industry, E-Poll also gathers data on services and products from other industries. Some of these industries include the automobile and pharmaceutical industry, and others.
For each E-Poll survey you complete, you will receive points, which you can later redeem as cash or gift cards.
So, is joining the platform a good idea, and are its rewards worth it? Our ePoll review answers these questions by revealing how it works.
How Does E-Poll Work?
To join E-Poll, you have to be at least 13 years old and reside in either the US or Canada.
The signup process involves providing your email address and personal details like your ethnicity, age, geographic location, and number of household members. These personal details will be used to determine which demographics you fall under, and if you are qualified to take E-Poll’s surveys.
Your email address, on the other hand, will be used to notify you when there’s a survey you can take.
After completing the signup form, you will receive an activation link in your email and get your first survey. Upon completing the survey, you’ll receive 100 points. You can earn more points by taking more surveys, but how much you’ll earn per subsequent survey will depend on the survey’s complexity and length.
Typically, E-Poll surveys need you to answer questions about movie trailers and TV commercials. It’s fun, and each survey takes about 10 to 15 minutes to complete.
Unlike other paid survey sites where you can apply to take surveys, though, you can only access surveys on E-Poll if you receive an invite to participate in one. Invites are sent to the email address provided in your profile, so be sure to keep your email notification on if you don’t want to miss survey opportunities.
The type of surveys you’ll receive will depend on your demographics. People in certain demographics receive more surveys than others—but don’t try to trick the system to get more surveys because this can lead to your account being shut down.
E-Poll reviews indicate that survey invites on the platform are generally scarce. You may have to wait up to four to six weeks to get a survey invite, which means you’ll be lucky to get one survey in a month. Compared to other survey sites, this isn’t great because it means your earnings per month will be minimal.
Of course, there are those in certain demographics that receive up to two surveys a month. It all depends on your demographics and the number/types of surveys that are available.
When the surveys do come, they may be in the form of interactive streaming videos, or regular online surveys. The video surveys may require you to watch specific live TV shows on your TV and review them. You may also be asked to watch and review DVDs that are sent to you or watch specific TV commercials.
In exchange for answering surveys or fulfilling other tasks, you’ll receive points. These points can be redeemed as gift cards or as cash through PayPal.
You can earn between 200 and 1,000 points for a video survey, but you will not be able to redeem your points as cash or gift cards until you have a minimum of 3,500 points (about $5) in your account. The gift cards you can get are from Amazon, Home Depot, Walmart, iTunes, Sears, Gamestop, Starbucks, Best Buy, and Target.
You can also participate in E-Poll’s monthly sweepstakes to win $250.
Note that it takes four to six weeks to process gift card requests. Alternatively, you can get your reward as cash via PayPal, but this won’t work if your PayPal email is different from that provided in your E-Poll profile. Also, the maximum amount you can withdraw via PayPal at once is $30 (17,250 points).
Due to the scarcity of surveys, it can take a while to earn enough points to redeem a gift card or cash reward. Fortunately, E-Poll points do not expire, which means you can let your points accumulate in your account for as long as you like.
As you can see, there are good reasons to join or not join E-Poll, but the real deciding factor is what our E-Poll review has to say about the platform’s legitimacy.
Is the Site Legit?
Various E-Poll surveys reviews agree that this platform is not a scam. The biggest indicator that the website is legitimate is that it has a good track record when it comes to delivering its members’ rewards via gift cards and PayPal transfers — pretty much like our best survey site picks, which ePoll actually does not appear in.
Another good indicator that you’re in safe hands with E-Poll is the platform is backed by a reputable company, Bridge Entertainment Inc. This company has been around for more than two decades and has a solid A+ rating on the Better Business Bureau.
But even though E-Poll is legit, E-Poll reviews show that the website isn’t perfect. For instance, what you can earn for a one-hour survey is quite low, about 70 cents.
Combine this with the scarcity of surveys on the site, and you end up with an unideal situation where you have to wait months to complete enough surveys to redeem a prize. I find it frustrating that I have to wait for months to redeem just $5.
Then there’s another issue – E-Poll will deduct points from your account if you’re inactive on the platform. You can lose up to a thousand points for missing a single survey. That’s just draconian!
In a Nutshell: The Good and the Bad
Based on ePoll reviews, here are some noteworthy pros about the platform.
- Their video surveys can be interesting and interactive, making the experience of completing surveys for money enjoyable.
- You can resume old surveys you haven’t completed at a later date, but only if the link to the survey is still available.
- You can take the video surveys either on your mobile device or on a computer, which is pretty convenient.
- You can redeem your points as cash via PayPal.
The following cons are based on member complaints and E-Poll reviews:
- You can get paid for watching TV shows, but you don’t get to choose what TV shows you watch.
- The design of the E-Poll website is outdated. This can make using the website tedious. The website also experiences cookie errors, which can interfere with your completing a survey.
- E-Poll survey invitations are few and far between. You should be able to get at least one survey a month, but some members claim to wait up to three months to get an invite.
- E-Poll deducts points from the accounts of inactive members. Being inactive for months or missing two survey invites can result in losing 2,000 points.
- Some of the surveys, such as the video surveys can take up to an hour to complete. In exchange for this, you get a measly 1,000 points or 70 cents. That’s $5 for 3,750 points or $10 for 7,250 points.
- The customer support takes too long to respond to queries and sometimes doesn’t respond at all.
- The processing time for redeeming rewards is too long. Getting cash via PayPal or a gift card can take up to eight weeks to process.
E-Poll surveys is a legit paid survey website, so there’s no need to worry about scams, but joining this platform to take surveys may not be worth your while considering how little you might earn for completing a survey. It’s not that much better than Harris Poll.
If your goal is to earn quick and significant cash from taking paid surveys, this paid survey site might not be for you. On the other hand, you can increase your income a teeny bit by joining E-Poll surveys and other reliable paid survey sites. This will ensure that you can earn more from multiple sources of income.
